Training Services

Airshots is not a Recognised Assessment Entity – we are a service provider to RAEs.

We provide experienced GVC qualified commercial UAV (drone) pilots, each with a minimum of 300 hours of logged flight time and our pilots/instructors have an average age of 45.

1. GVC Flight Coaching

  • Safety & Control: We teach students to be able to fly in a safe and controlled manner so that they are equipped to undertake their GVC flight assessments confidently.
  • Set Manouvres: Each standard GVC flight assessmnet manouvre is taught in a step by step process.

2. GVC Flight Assessments

  • Process: We conduct a flight assessment under the guise of the RAE we contract for. All CAA official paperwork is completed and a flight test conducted and graded.
  • Results: The outcome of an assessment is generally known on the day and the candidates are advised of their pass or fail immediately after the assessment.

3. GVC Classroom Training

  • Curriculum: The curriculum includes topics such as air law, airspace, navigation, meteorology and aircraft knowledge
  • Theory Test: After classroom training a theory test is provided, marked on the day and then a flight assessment can be undertaken.
    Operations Manual: The Operations Manual is built by the student candidates and vetted or assisted by the RAE.

4. Locations

  • South of England: We offer turnkey location packages in several locations with more being added as we develop. These are mostly prestige hotels, such as the Dever Latimer Estate (Bucks) and the Ashridge House (Herts). All locations provide AV rquipment, refreshments, lunch and discounted rooms and all flight operation areas have been fully risk assessed.
  • East/North of England: Locations are currently being negotiated with so check back in for updates.
  • Other: We also travel to other locations to suit our RAE’s client base to conduct training, flight coaching and flight assessments from our bases in Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire.
